4 Email Tricks Guaranteed to Get You More Client Work
A thriving creative brand depends on consistent clients, ongoing sponsorships and brand collabs. Want to get more client work? Then you’ve gotta know how to send a good email.
Whether you’re pitching potential brands out of the blue, or returning an inquiry to someone who has shown interest, the words you use can close down the conversation or seal the deal. Let’s tip the scale, so you can seal more deals.
Four things to include in every email (plus! Actual lines from REAL EMAILS that led to multiple deals with big-name brands):
1. A Peppy Greeting
Catch their attention right away. Start your emails with a peppy, original opener. And they’re 30280% more likely to read the next paragraph. Stats there are approximated.
Bonus points for making your green BIG, BOLD & using their NAME.
2. A Personal Hello
Start with a personal, specific opening paragraph, 1-2 sentences max. Make these sentences ABOUT THEM. Or tell them something current, relevant and not-business-related about YOU. A sincere compliment or conversation starter, that’s what you’re going for. As it turns out, these are 2 of most consistently successful ways to start building a friendship.
3. Get Right To It
You now have 1-2 short paragraphs to say what you need to say. Keep ‘em snappy. Get specific on your goals, needs or services. Share your media kit, rate kit or link to your portfolio here. Be assertive in telling them why you love their company, and why they will love you. Every brand is looking for people-who-get-things-done. Show them in your email that you get right to it, get things done, move things forward, and can be counted on to make magic.
The first line of any paragraph should be in bold, and should quickly summarize what the paragraph is about.
4. Future Facing Closer
Time to wrap it up. But not to end it. Finish off your email with a unique closer. Something friendly, open-ended and positive. And you’ll invite your clients into the next conversation. And then the next, and then the next.
