I promised to share these yesterday, but the sun set too soon. All that glorious natural light was lost until this morning. When, at exactly 11 a.m. MST, I whipped up a Blackberry Vodka for photoshooting. Which also meant I whipped up a Blackberry Vodka for breakfast.
It’s practically bulletproof.
Actually, it was the Bulletproof eating plan that inspired this cocktail.
If you’re going to drink, says The Plan, go for the hard distilled liquor. So I did.
A wee bit of locally sourced Five Wives Heavenly Vanilla Vodka. Blackberries. Ginger. Honey.
The flavor combo is perfection. The cocktail is perfect for these quiet autumn evenings, when you’re holding onto summer with your fingertips. Surrounded by people you like quite a lot, and soaking in the Indian Summer evenings.
Rain is forecasted for us here in SLC this weekend. I suppose we don’t have many Martini Evenings left before we turn to Pumpkin Toddy’s.
A swap I’ll welcome quite openly. Once I finish sipping my breakfast and let this blackberry buzz wear off.
BLACKBERRY-GINGER MARTINI
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup ice
1/2 lime, peeled
1/3 cup blackberries
1/2" ginger, peeled
1 teaspoon honey
1 shot vanilla custard vokdaDIRECTIONS:
1. Place everything in a Vitamix.
2. Blend.
3. Enjoy.Makes 1 Martini
